Getting to Syon House

Syon House is located in West London, seven miles from Heathrow and eleven miles from central London.

Flights to London

There are several direct flights to London from New York, San Francisco and San Jose daily. Use services like Google Flights, Hipmunk, Skyscanner and Kayak for the best deals.

NY-LON is served by British Airways, Delta, American, United and Virgin Atlantic, amongst others. A Thursday-Sunday flight costs somewhere in the region of $800, and the flight is approximately seven hours. The cheapest ticket is on Norwegian Air and costs $589, though arrives into London Gatwick airport.

SFO-LON is served by United, Virgin America and British Airways, amongst others. A Thursday - Sunday flight costs somewhere in the region of $1,600 - though prices will fluctuate over the next few months. Stopping in Dublin reduces prices to $1,200, and stopping in Boston and Reykjavik reduces costs to $966.

SJ-LON offers a cheaper route to London from the West Coast, though with a stop in Las Vegas. Tickets can be found for under $1,000 flying with Delta from San Jose to Las Vegas, and with Virgin Atlantic from Las Vegas to London Gatwick. Total flying time is 11h30m.

From Heathrow

By car: If you're using Sat Nav, use the postcode TW8 8JG - which will get you direct to the Syon Park Hilton Hotel. If you don't have Sat Nav, then from Heathrow, head south on the M4, and then take the Eastern Perimeter Road and Envoy Avenue to the A30. Then take the Great West Road/A4, and turn off onto the B464/Syon Lane, and then take Park Road to the venue. Full directions are available here. The journey should take about 30m.

By public transport: Take the Piccadilly line towards Cockfosters to Hounslow East, and then take the 237 or 235 bus towards White City Bus Station, and get off at Syon Lane London Road (Stop X). Then walk for 5 minutes to the venue. The journey should take 28m.

Alternatively, take the Piccadilly line towards Cockfosters, and get off at Boston Manor. Take the E8 bus towards Brentford bus depot, and get off at Commerce Road/Brentford Lock. Walk for 0.5 miles to the venue. The journey should take 36m.

From Central London

By car: If you're using Sat Nav, use the postcode TW8 8JG - which will get you direct to the Syon Park Hilton Hotel. If you don't have Sat Nav, then exit London via the A4, then take the Great West Road to Syon Lane/B464 in Brentford. Follow the B464 to Park Road, which goes directly to Syon House. By public transport: Take the District line towards Richmond and get off at Gunnersbury. Transfer to the 267/237 bus towards Fulwell Bus Garage, and get off at Syon Lane London Road (Stop W). Walk 0.2 miles to the venue. The journey should take 58m.

Alternatively, take the Piccadilly line towards Heathrow and get off at Boston Manor. Take the E8 bus towards Brentford bus depot, and get off at Commerce Road/Brentford Lock. Walk for 0.5 miles to the venue. The journey should take 59m.

Alternatively, take the Bakerloo Line towards Elephant and Castle and get off at Waterloo. Take the Southwest train towards London Waterloo (??), and get off at Syon Lane. Walk for 0.5 miles to the venue. The journey should take 1hr9m.

From the Airport

If you're flying, then a car from San Francisco airport should take about an hour, and a car from San Jose airport will take about 30m. From Oakland airport it's just over an hour. It's worth bearing in mind that traffic in this area can be terrible, so apps like Google Maps and Waze can be helpful in getting live travel time estimates.

 Getting to San Jose from San Francisco

You have a few options for getting in to San Jose, and to 7312 Glenview. 

It would probably be easiest to get an Uber or a Lyft (on demand taxis) - which would cost you about $75. There is also a train, the CalTrain, which takes about an hour, costs about $10, and runs every hour. More here.

You'd then need to get a taxi/Lyft/Uber from San Jose Diridon Station to 7312 Glenview.
